I would immediately get a sunburn type rash on my face and arms that night. It would remain for the next 3-4 days. As long as I stayed very consistent with my anti-nausea medication I didn’t have vary many issues with nausea. I had intestinal cramping starting day 4 after treatment and lasting until day 7 which often resulted in diarrhea. My tongue felt swollen and large and sore but I didn’t get sores in my mouth. I could not stand the smell of meat cooking, especially breakfast meat. Protein shakes were my friend the first week and then Mexican food was pretty much all I could stomach for the remaining 2 weeks. Raw vegetables would send me into almost immediate intestinal cramping. I had a lot of pain which I believe was a result of the Neulasta shot not the Chemo treatment.

Had first treatment Friday 2/23/18 ,9 weeks post bilat masect., worst pain body aches after Neulasta release on 2nd day. Working on monday was terrible with heavy schedule. taking claratin daily. hair has not fell off as yet. Expanders feel like concrete blocks. Body pain so bay friday, wished I did not exist. But doing better today. Hope it gets better. No Nausea, I try to eat my 3 meals daily as well as fruit and drink water.
Not much sleep the first night due to steroids; wired on Day 2 but no real nausea; some stomach cramps and diarrhea 1st & 2nd days – didn’t want to plug myself up with Imodium so just let it happen.
Took Xanax on 2nd night, had lavender essential oil in diffuser and listened to relaxation/guided meditation and slept great. Very tired and some body aches on Day 3. Will take it easy…

My first cycle of TC chemo was the worst for pain, nausea etc. My doctor prescribed a mouth wash for the sores, it was a combination of nystatin and lidocaine. I had a sore throat as well so I drank some of it a few times. Used it only twice after the second cycle. Brush your teeth after every meal and snack and rinse with water and 1/2 teaspoon baking soda. Take pain killers, take anti nausea pills, take sleeping pills, sleep whenever tired. Eat whatever appeals but avoid processed meat, anything with a list of chemicals; add a few drops of lemon to drinking water. I took loratadine (like Claritin) daily for allergy/sinus problems. The pharmacist said it helps with pain as well and my doctor agreed.
