It is what it is. Might as well find some humor in your journey.

Updated October 26th, 2013, filed in Lung Cancer

I was diagnosed last February (2013) with stage IV lung cancer. A shock to me, needless to say, as a non-smoker. Unless of course you count those funny things I smoked back in college 40 years ago.

Besides the support of family and friends, I have found keeping my sense of humor throughout my journey has been the best medicine, other than the miracle drug Tarceva, which has kept me afloat for the past 8 months.

So, soon after my diagnosis, I began a blog where I can put a bit of a humorous spin on what can be a very humorless journey if you let it. Hope it provides some comical relief for those of you that have dealt with this for some time as well as those of you who are just beginning your battle:

Stay positive – it makes all the difference.

Hi, I'm Kellie M G.

I also was diagnosed stage 4 lung ca having never smoked, in 2007. Moved to brain in 2009. Still kicking! Brain tumors not operable so a lot of radiation. Currently on Tarceva for other lung, which has been very effective. Brain radiation has caused difficulty in walking; a lot of rehab to walk with a foot boot & cane. Dr. Considering trying avastin for brain (not lung). Anyone have experience ?

Hi, I'm Vickie S M.

I was diagnosed with Stage 4A small cell lung cancer. I have been through the chemo and radiation and now they want to do 10 radiation treatments to the brain. I had such a hard time with the chemo and radiation I am scared to death getting this. I have researched the side effects of this and they are not pleasant. Please I would love to hear from someone that has had this treatment. Would you do it again?
