New to keytruda
I had stage three Merkle Cell Carcinoma a very rare and aggressive skin cancer. I had my first six infusions with no issues and am happy to say my PET scan showed no signs of cancer remaining. This is truly a “miracle” drug. My last blood work did show an overactive Thyroid so I am seeing an endocrinologist this week. Sure beats cancer!
Hello, I have been diagnosed with stage four lung cancer and I had my first treatment with Keytruda on August 13th. I experienced some swelling in the lymph nodes in my chest and neck a few days later, but my doctor told me that was to be expected. Otherwise, I am doing okay right now. Thanks for letting me share.
I was diagnosed with Stage 3B Melanoma in April and just completed 7th of 17 Keytruda treatments. At first, you will think each time you don’t sleep well at night or you have an itch – it’s a side effect. I can’t speak for everyone – but for me – very little side effects. I have a treatment each third Friday in the afternoons and I have done my treatment and then gone back to work afterwords. I have not missed a single day of work, family or friends since my diagnosis. I do see people in the cancer center dealing with WAY MORE and I almost feel guilty because my treatments are so fast and for the most part easy. I go in for my first PET Scan in October and hope and pray it’s working. So far so good. Plenty of really great stories out there about how well KeyTruda has worked for so many people. I know you have heard this so many times – but staying positive is a major component to winning the battle. Good luck on your journey!!
I had high grade Sarcoma cancer in my lower right jaw. After surgery and during 37 days of radiation they started me on Keytruda. I got a slight rash sometimes and diarrhea sometimes but not always. I just had my first PET scan since surgery and it came back clean! Keytruda is working for me! I have infusion #9 coming up next week. I’m grateful to have it vs. chemo. It’s definitely working for me.
My husband has been getting Keytruda treatments every 3 weeks for almost 2 years with no noticeable side effects. He has a treatment and goes straight to work. Immunotherapy has not slowed him down at all. He has stage 4 lung cancer and his latest CT shows no activity in the mass or in the involved lymph nodes…absolutely amazing!!
