I had radiation for my breast cancer. I was freaked out over the idea. But it was nothing like what I had heard in days past. It didn’t hurt, it didn’t take long and they listen to every quirky symptom you have and have an answer for them. Trust your team. Ask or express your concerns. They got you. You got this and will get through this.
I was diagnosed on Valentines Day, My cancer was small so I had a lumpectomy in March. I was fortunate that it wasn’t in my lymph nodes. Toward the end of radiation, the skin on my breast started to burn like sunburn. The radiologist looked at it and advised me what to do. Because of covid I didn’t start radiation until June, so I had 3 days for July 4th.Three days off helped the the most. If you get a rash, show the technition and have a nurse or doctor look at it. Tell them before it gets bad. They can help.
We were diagnosed Nov 27th 2019. I was told in the ICU my husband was expected 2-6 months. We completed standard of care Temadar and radiation.( 6 week course). He had a 6cm left frontal lobe mass. Glioblastoma grade IV. We have just finished our 6 months of monthly temadar. About to celebrate our 1 year cancer-versary here in November. We have had some very good days! Living life to the fullest.
